About

Sapporo Short Fest screens international and domestic films, provides a market for industry professionals and buyers to connect with Japanese and international filmmakers/directors/producers, and holds seminars, workshops, special screenings, forums, and parties during the one week festival.

The goals of the festival:

• To create a market for short films
• Fostering of young short film makers
• International exchanges through cultural activities 
• To promote film education.

• INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION: FILMMAKERS' SECTION;
• FILM-MARKET.

Awards

Filmmakers’ Section: The Grand Prix.

One Title Section:

• The Grand Prix.
• Сategory awards: Best Director / Best Asian Short / Best National Short / Best Hokkaido Short / Best Contemporary & Experimental Short / Best Animation / Best Documentary / Best Mini Short (Under 5 min) / Best Non-Dialogue Short / Best Student Director / Best Original Score / Best Children Short (Children juries who are under 12 years old will choose the award).
• SSF special awards.

• A short film less than 30 min, completed after March 1, 2022
• Genre: All (including music video)
• Submit via Filmfreeway
• Student fees
