Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival

International Independent Film and Music Festival.


The festival is dedicated to promoting and discovering innovative films and musicians who don't benefit from traditional distribution channels.

Offering a program of exceptional films and music, the LUFF is a cultural event without comparison in the Swiss cultural landscape.

The Film competition of LUFF is divided into a feature films section and various short films sections, which include documentary shorts. Outside of the competition, the festival presents documentary feature films and a wide «Cinérama» section composed of several contemporary and retrospective programs.

Prize money in all sections.


  • Only films released between 2018 and 2020 will be selected for the competition ( short or feature films )
  • Films should largely be produced independently
  • Feature film: Any film longer than 59 minutes; 
  • Short film: Any film shorter than 59 minutes;
  • It’s important for us that you check only ONE category for your entry.

Subtitles language: English or French

Screening formats:

  • Feature films are accepted in the following formats: 35 mm,16 mm, Video ( DVD, file ), HD Video ( BluRay, file ), and DCP.
  • For short films, only digital files are accepted. A HD version has to be sent to us by file transfer ( WeTransfer, FTP, etc. ).
