Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival

About

Festival was launched in 2005 on 100th anniversary of Slovenian cinematography in Ljutomer, where first Slovenian motion pictures were made by the hand of Dr. Karol Grossmann. Initiated by Film Practice Plan 9, Development Agency of Prlekija and with help of European Structural Fund, Slovenia's first international festival dedicated to genre cinema was put on the map. It featured a selection of unconventional movies and numerous film
guests, which was something quite uncommon for Slovenian conditions. This tradition was carriedon successfully, program and accompanying activities were constantly upgraded and with time Grossmann became one of most interesting film events in this part of Europe. With indispensable addition of wine - the pride and joy of Prlekija region - in the festival equation, completely new horizons of gastronomical pleasures were open to all our guests and visitors.

Each year our accompanying program features numerous wine tastings, art exhibitions, live concerts, workshops, panels and a traditional monster manifestation at the final day.

Since 2010, Grossmann Fantastic Film and Wine Festival is an adherent member of the European Fantastic Film Festivals federation (EFFFF). In 2013 US-based MovieMaker Magazine has listed Grossmann Festival among the “Top 5 Coolest Horror/Sci-FI Film Festivals in the World”.

Rules

• Year of production may not be before 2021.
• Only genre (fantastic, horror, action, comedy...) films will be considered.
• Submit via Filmfreeway.
• Free submission for students
• Submission must include at least two photos from the movie and poster artwork. Short trailers or excerpts from movies (not longer than 20 seconds) are also welcomed.
• Submission must include short biography and filmography of author.
• Subtitles language: English
