CineMigrante Festival

About

The purpose of the Festival is to create a space for cinematographic reflection in order to share, spread, highlight and raise awareness over life experiences and problems of all the people who inhabit this world and that, at a time and for some reason, decided to leave the place in which they were born and migrate; generating instances of recognition in others and in the other, a recognition of the 'otherness' that allows the strengthen of our identity, contributes to our historical and individual knowledge, thus reflecting ourselves in others to reconstruct ourselves.

Understanding that human beings are essentially in movement as part of their social nature, the Festival aims to denature impermeable identities on which society is constructed by promoting a meeting between different cultures that conform our social reality. 

CineMigrante Festival aims to reflect the current issues involving cross-cultural movements, addressing migration from a different point of view that forgets about stereotypes constructed by the mass media.

Awards

There will be rewarded the Best Full-lenght film and the Best Medium/Short length film in behalf of Che Revolution Post and CineColor for the accomplishment of services of post-production.

There will be special prizes given by the organisms participants.

The movies that turn out to be winning, once ended the edition of the Festival, will be able to be selected in a special way for another type of reproductions. The pertinent information will be sent to the director or producer or person in charge.

Rules

• Eligible are documentaries, fiction films, animated films and experimental projects produced in 2018 or later.
• We invite filmmakers to participate with their feature films, medium-length and short films that address migration issues.

Documents and Other Requisite Items

• Fill out entry form,
• Submit the film online
• If available, you are very welcome to send press dossiers, brochures, photos and posters in order to provide information to the press and promote the film to the audience

Submitted films should be preferably in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish. If a Spanish language version is not available, a dialogue list in English or Spanish with its corresponding time codes needs to be sent to the following e-mail address: cinemigrante@hotmail.com
