About
CIFF has become one of the largest film festivals in Canada – enjoyed by upwards of 50,000 cultural enthusiasts. The Calgary International Film Festival (“CIFF” or “the Festival”) accepts submissions of films of all lengths and subject matters for inclusion in the following programs: Galas, Headliners, Mavericks, Canadian Cinema, World Cinema (including American), Documentaries, Shorts, Music On Film, Late Shows, the Youth By Youth Film Series, and annual Spotlight programs (TBA).

Awards
- Audience Choice awards for Best Narrative Feature,
- Audience Choice awards for Best Documentary Feature,
- Audience Choice awards for Best Live Action Short,
- Audience Choice awards for Best Animated Short,
- Discovery Awards (Best First Feature Film) in the Narrative and Documentary categories (cash prize).
- Short Film awards are also presented to the Best Alberta Short Film (the Enbridge Alberta Spirit Award) and the Best Overall Short Film.
Rules
- The film was completed after June 1, 2023, and was not previously submitted to CIFF.
- films from 30 seconds in duration;
- FEATURE Films must be a Calgary premiere. This includes local films.
- SHORT FILMS - priority if given to films which have not yet screened in Calgary, or not yet available online.
- One can submit more than one film.

- Submission via Filmfreeway is also available.
- Subtitles language: English
