International Festival of Children's and Youth Cinema "Clouds"

Children's and youth cinema is an important part of cinema, which affects many aspects of society and helps to establish a relationship between generations.

The festival will be held from August 6 to August 25, 2025 in the Children's camps "Zhemchuzhina" (Yevpatoria), "Aivazovsky" (Feodosia), "Scarlet Sails" (Zelenogradsk), "New Generation" (Ust-Kachkinsk). The application deadline is from May 1 to July 30, 2025, until 23:59 Moscow time.

During the Festival, in addition to the screenings, master classes and creative meetings from cinema figures will be held. Children will use them to create their debut films.

There are two sections organized at the festival: children's, youth, and student sections. 

Participation in the Clouds International Festival of Children's and Youth Cinema is free of charge.

Awards

Following the results of the jury meetings, prizes are awarded in the following categories:

• Grand Prix;
• The best children's film according to the audience;
• The best student film according to the audience;
• The best feature film in the under-12 category;
• The best feature film in the category from 13 to 17 years old;
• The best feature film in the category from 17 years old;
• Best Animated Film in the Under-12 category;
• The best animated film in the category from 13 to 17 years old;
• The best animated film in the category from 17 years old;
• Best Documentary in the Under-12 category;
• Best Documentary in the category from 13 to 17 years old;
• The best documentary in the category from 17 years old.

Diplomas are also awarded in the following categories:

• The best dramatic presentation of history;
• The best editing and computer graphics;
• Best Cinematography;
• The best sound engineering work;
• Best Director's Work;
• Best Supporting Actor;
• Best Supporting Actor;
• Best Supporting Actress;
• Best Supporting Actress;
• Best Actress in the Under-12 category;
• The best actor in the under-12 category.

Rules

• Applications are collected through the registration Google form posted on the festival's website www.clouds-fest.ru 
• Applications for participation in the film festival are accepted from May 01 to July 30, 2025, until 23:59 Moscow time.
• The festival accepts audiovisual works created by students of children's film schools, film clubs, clubs, performed by students of creative universities, colleges, associations, clubs, as well as works performed individually by authors from Russia, CIS and far abroad.
• Works made by the participants are allowed to participate. Work performed on the basis of third-party material (remounting) is not allowed.
• Audiovisual works of up to 15 minutes are accepted for participation in the Film Festival.
• Minimum resolution for 1920 x 1080 movies. Materials that are defective in image or sound are not allowed to participate in the contest.
• Video files of works are accepted in .mov .mp4 formats using the h.264/mpeg4 codec. You want to place the file in one of the following file-sharing resources google drive, Yandex disk, or cloud mail ru, or sharing rutube, vk, vimeo. By specifying a link to the file in the application, you need to make sure that the link will be active and public during the entire duration of the film festival.
• Creative work must have titles: the name of the work, the name of the team (film school, association, studio), the author's full name, the year of the film's creation (no earlier than 2023).
• Films are accepted in any language. Works created in a foreign language must have simultaneous translation in Russian or subtitles.
• Films submitted to the festival must not contain propaganda of violence, national, racial or religious intolerance, or insult to human moral feelings. They should also not contain information, the dissemination of which is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation, or obscene language.

• information about the children's film school - city, name, logo (with a resolution of at least 600*600), brief description, photos from school events;
• for an individual author - the author's full name, a brief autobiography, a photograph (with a resolution of at least 600* 600);
• information about the film – the city or country where it was created, the year of production, the film's abstract in Russian, 3-5 frames from the film (with a resolution of at least 600* 600);
• information about the shooting team - brief information about the director, photos of the director or the film crew, the composition of the film crew;
•  Russian Russian translation - a video message from the author of the film in his native language (the video must contain Russian subtitles or dubbing in Russian);
• if the film and related materials are not provided within the specified period or if the provided copy of the film does not meet the technical requirements, the festival organizers have the right to exclude the film from the competition program.

Jury and Organizers

Two sections are organized at the festival: children's, youth, and student. 

The Clouds Festival will have two jury groups organized: an adult and a children's one.

The adult jury:

• Director of the animated film "Belka and Strelka" Inna Evlannikova;
• Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, director and production designer of animated films, associate professor of VGIK Leonid Pozhidaev;
•  The children's jury will be formed from the young participants of the festival.
