The film festival is the first professional event for the development of local cinema. A new platform in the Volga Federal District to introduce viewers to Russian cinema and develop the creative community.

Venues for film screenings, educational and business program events will be the main stages and screens of the capital: the Mari State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Erik Sapaev, the School of Creative Industries, the National Museum. Evseeva and others.

The festival program includes: screenings of competitive (short fiction, documentary and animated films) and non-competitive programs with discussions of films with creative groups, a round table on the development of regional cinema, Q@A sessions and master classes from federal experts, a location tour of the Republic of Mari El for film festival participants.

At the end of the festival, an “echo” of the film festival will be held in the regional centers of the republic.”

Rules

To participate in the selection in the competition program of the Film Festival, fiction, documentary and animated short films up to 40 minutes produced in Russia or in co-production with Russian companies, filmed in 2022 - 2024, are accepted.

To participate in the selection, you must fill out an application on the official website of the Film Festival www.yofest.ru from July 1 to August 10, 2024.

All films included in the Film Festival program must have a distribution certificate.

The premiere of a film is not a prerequisite for inclusion in the competition program.

The Application contains a link to a copy of the film uploaded to a cloud server or video hosting. The link must be active until applications close.

For films in a language other than Russian, the copy must contain Russian subtitles.

Submitting an Application for Participation is free.

Applications sent after this date will not be considered.

The film festival is held by the film companies "FILDOK" and "SHABLIY" with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives and the Government of the Republic of Mari El.
