About
The Antares International Film Festival is a new Russian film festival held annually in Sochi. The uniqueness of the festival lies in the fact that through the prism of the art of cinema Antares draws attention to the everyday problems of ordinary people. Different generations of cinematographers meet on the festival platform and this synergy results in new creative projects in different parts of the world.
The competitive programme consists of feature films, documentaries and animated films, which will be evaluated by a professional international jury and the winners will be selected. The main five prizes of the film festival are the Antares statuette made in metal by the famous sculptor Grigory Pototski. The other winners will receive a smaller copy of "Antares" and a diploma of the film festival.
A special feature of the festival will be the screening of films not included in the competition programme on a digital platform for viewing and voting by viewers from all over the world to determine the five strongest works not included in the competition programme. The winners of this vote will receive special festival prizes.
The festival programme in Sochi includes competitive screenings, out-of-competition screenings, retrospective screenings, creative meetings with actors and directors from different countries, master classes and evening programmes.

Rules
APPLICATIONS AND SELECTION
Entry dates are from 1 February 2024 to 10 May 2024 (for films produced in 2024, it is possible to submit a rough cut for selection).
There is no fee for submitting an application to participate in the film festival.
YOU CAN SUBMIT FILMS FOR SELECTION
via the form on the website
via the following online platforms: FilmFreeway or Festhome.
The list of films selected for the competition programme will be published on our website at least two (2) weeks before the festival.
Producers and authors of selected works will be notified in advance by email. The Festival does not pay licence fees for the screening of films selected in the competition.
The decision of the selection committee is final and is not commented on or discussed.
PROMOTION
Participants of the film festival agree to provide elements of the film (including but not limited to: footage, photos from the set, texts related to the film, trailers, teasers, cuts) for use by journalists accredited at the Antares Film Festival, on TV (air, cable, satellite), in Internet media, in print media.
In addition, elements of the film may be used by the Film Festival Directorate in any official printed materials, online publications and other situations.

Jury and Organizers
The films selected for each nomination are assessed by a panel of no less than three individuals in each competition. The panel is comprised of film historians, critics, and notable Russian and foreign filmmakers, including directors, producers, cinematographers, and screenwriters.

The composition of the panel for all competition programs is altered on a yearly basis. The panel is not permitted to include individuals who are involved in the production or commercial distribution of the films submitted to the competition. It is kindly requested that all members of the Jury refrain from making any public statements about the films in competition, including any direct references to the winning films, publishing reviews or references of the winning films in public sources, or making any other statements containing indications of the competition winners. It is highly recommended that such statements be avoided until the official award ceremony and the announcement of the winners.
