About

Weird is a macro project which concentrates all the production and distribution of the digital sector and international animation. The main objective of this market is to bring about a place for the direct contact among professionals — international and national animation distributors, producers, TV channels, festival programmers, students and filmmakers.

The market organises a parallel festival, a pitching zone for projects, expositions, lectures and master classes. Weird is a Cartoon d´Or partner festival and the winning European & Spanish short films will be automatically selected for this prestigious European award.

International competition (a selection of short films, music videos and strereoscopic works):

• A selection of short films 
• A selection of music videos 
• A selection of stereoscopic works
• A selection of promotional and advertising pieces

National market section (a selection of Spanish short films).

Awards

• ● Jury Awards, composed by national and international professionals of the animation: 
  o Best International Short Film Jury Award 
  o Best European Short Film Jury Award

  ● Audience Awards, as result from the votes of the screenings: 
  o Best International Short Film Audience Award 
  o Best Spanish Short Film Audience Award

Rules

• Running time should not exceed 30 minutes short films, 10 minutes for music videos and 5 minutes for promotional and advertising pieces.

The festival accepts every technique of animation.

Only selected shorts will form part of the international catalogue of the market and will be screened to professionals who attend the market.

The organization has the right to use some pictures or extracts (max. 20 seconds) of the selected short films to promote those works and 3D Wire itself. The producers or distributors guarantee that they have the legal authority to grant such rights and have cleared all the rights related to the films.
