About

Turku is the home of Finnish animation. It is also the hometown of Turku Arts Academy, the school that has been selected as the best animation school in the world.

Turku Animated Film Festival is a fresh international film festival that celebrates the creative mind and the art of animation.

TAFF seeks to promote animated film culture both in Finland and internationally. Our aim is to become the most important animated film festival in Finland, creating a platform for encounters between filmmakers, industry delegates and local lovers of animation. We’re also interested in extending the concept of film screening, bringing together cinema and other forms of creativity as well as entertainment.

Rules

• Minimum 70% of the film duration must be animation, all animation techniques. 
• Films should not exceed length of 30 minutes.
• Films must have been completed after 1st of January 2023.
• Industrial, educational or commercial films are not accepted. Also animated TV-series and their episodes are not accepted into the competition.
• The selection will be made on completed productions only.
• Submit at the festival site or via Filmfreeway. For the submission is needed 1 still photo from the film minimum 300 dpi and online link (download or stream) and a password in the online application form.
