Providence Children's Film Festival

About

In particular, the Festival committee looks for films with content that speaks positively to children,teens and families of diverse ages, backgrounds and ethnicities. Please consider submitting if you have created work that can speak to all, including children. We seek films that are entertaining and/or challenging to young minds with serious, true-to-life topics and narratives. PCFF welcomes foreign films with subtitles, documentaries, animation and even experimental films that might widen the perspectives of those who attend. 

Unlike other fests that use children’s juries to decide the awards given at the Festival, we also include children in the process of selecting films for the Festival. The results can be quite astonishing.

• Youth Filmmaker Show (non-competitive category).

Awards

At the conclusion of the Festival six awards are given:

• Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and Best Documentary (audience votes);
• Best Feature Film, Best Short Film and Best Documentary (PCFF’s Special Jury).

Rules

Restirctions

• Features: From 50 minutes to 115 minutes,
• Shorts: From 3 minutes to 30 minutes,
• Youth Filmmaker Show. Films that have been produced by youths aged 6 to 17. Running time limits are between 1 and 10 minutes
• Projects completed after February 1, 2022
