Film festival "Massshtab"

About

The second festival of independent youth short films “Masshtab” (hereinafter referred to as the “Festival”) is a competition of films that have received an expert assessment of the members of the selection committee.

The objective of the Festival is to present the works of creative youth to the Jury, consisting of professionals from the Russian film industry, to support the creative searches of young filmmakers, to discover new names, and to expand the country's youth film geography. As part of the Festival "Massshtab" are held:

• competitive program of short fiction and documentary films;

• Presentation of the competitive program from the team of participants;

• Q&A, creative meetings of the authors of the competition program with the audience as part of the discussion of the submitted works;

• out-of-competition program of feature films;

• master classes, lectures supporting the development of new Russian cinematography;

• cultural and entertainment program.

Awards

Prize-winners of the Festival are awarded with Prize-statuettes.

The following prizes are awarded at the Festival:

• Best Film Award (voted by the audience)
• Best Screenplay Award (Voted by the Jury)
• Best Director Award (Voted by the Jury)
• Best Cinematography Award (voted by the Jury)

Rules

To participate in the competition program of the Festival, short feature and documentary films of directors, screenwriters, actors, cameramen produced in 2022-2023 are accepted.

The Competition Program may include films made by young Russian directors, students of film universities and film schools, as well as films made by foreign directors in Russian. Fiction and documentary films from 8 to 30 minutes are accepted for consideration and participation in the Competition Program.

Participation is free.

Jury and Organizers

Films of the competition program are evaluated by the audience of the festival and the jury, consisting of professionals in the cinema industry, in the amount of 5 (five) people. The jury has no right not to award a prize in any of the nominations. All members of the jury undertake to refrain from public statements about the competition films until the closing of the Festival.

The audience has the right to award the "Best Film Award" by general audience voting held during the Closing Ceremony of the Festival.
