LA Shorts Fest is the only film festival with 7 award categories recognized by the Academy Awards. In past years, 44 participants have earned Academy Award nominations, with 13 filmmakers actually taking home the Oscar.
LA Shorts Fest is an official qualifying event for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) short film awards. This means that award-winners at the festival are eligible to win BAFTA's.

Rules
- Films must NOT have screened in Los Angeles prior to our festival.
- Films must have been completed after Jan. 1, 2023.
- Subtitles language: English
