In 2017, for the first time in Africa, Lagos the entertainment capital of Africa, home to the world second largest film industry (Nollywood) hosted the newest smartphone film festival on the continent - African Smartphone International Film Festival (ASIFF) a platform to showcase new talents using simple tools and readily available, that’s often overlook; The smartphone.
ASIFFl provides new emerging film makers an international platform to showcase ideas, talents and creativity irrespective of the budget. Encouraging professional amateurs and aspiring film makers to share their stories shot on a smartphones, tablets, and webcams on the big screen.

Rules
- Films must not be longer than 15 minutes (including titles or credit sequence)
- Use of additional equipment professional or homemade is allowed, include (but not limited to external microphones, wide angles lens, light etc.
- Any software can be used to edit the video and audio as well as colour correction or special effects is allowed.
- Film submissions should include two or more behind-the-scene photos and/or videos.
- All foreign submissions containing spoken language(s) other than English must be subtitled in English.
