This is a story about one day in the life of two friends during the civil war in Russia in the year 2021. During the course of the war, one of the soldiers recognizes that he knows one of their captives, and suddenly realizes that the act of war no longer makes sense when the individual being fought against is a familiar person.
For me, this is a story about individuals dividing others into categories - political, religious, national ones. Russian people have gone through such events many times in its history, and these have always led to murderous conflicts that are senseless. Further, there is a feeling that people who we now see in common places such as the metro , at concerts might find themselves in different sides tomorrow. Even though we are different - and everyone has the right to stand up for themselves.
