The life of Karlygash and Ilyas, a young married couple living in a remote settlement in the Kazakh steppe, changes dramatically with the appearance of a French traveler in it Louis. The relationship between the characters gets confused, forming a love polygon, in which Ilyas's first love also participates. Nevertheless, each of the characters gains freedom by being able to understand their true feelings.
