Born in Omsk city in 1982. In 2004 he graduated from the historical faculty of Omsk State University. In 2005 he received the diploma of Independent School of cinema and TV INTERNEWS in Moscow (Faculty Directing Film and TV). The participant and winner of russian and international film festivals. Andrey Ananin was born in 1993 in Siberia, in the city of Tomsk. He enrolled in the Law Faculty at the Lomonosov Moscow State University on a budget basis. At university, he continued his creative work and video-making. Two and a half years later, on his own initiative, he left university and enrolled at S.A. Gerasimov's VGIK, from which he graduated in 2018, with a degree in film directing from the workshop of S.V. Miroshnichenko and S.L. Muzychenko.At the moment, he has directed 11 documentaries, most of which have been widely distributed at festivals in Russia and around the world and are also available on the country's leading online cinema platforms. His films "Baba Anya" and "Armageddon" have been popular with internet audiences, with a combined viewership of over 1.5 million. His movies are shown at the festival box office in more than 17 countries worldwide. Andrey Ananin has received directorial awards including the Golden Laurel branch (the main prize at Russia's documentary film festival), a nomination for best documentary at the Moscow Film Festival, and prizes from international festivals such as Flahertiana, Window to Europe, TEFI, Saint Anna, Won Together, KUNAKI, Unprecedented cinema, etc. He has also been nominated for the Golden Eagle and NIKA awards. He is a member of the Union of Cinematic Artists and the Guild of Non-Fiction Films.
