About
"Ural, I Love You" is one of the oldest film festivals dedicated to local Ural cinema. It was established in 2014 and over the decade has managed to become a significant event on the cultural map of the Urals.
The contest accepts works popularizing the historical, cultural, natural, industrial, and intellectual heritage of the Urals. And most importantly – shot on our territories and imbued with love for the native land – its people, landscapes, victories and achievements.
Awards
Within the framework of the Film Festival , winners in the following categories are identified and awarded:
- "Ural of Winners" (works about heroes of the past and present who showed courage, fortitude and dedication to duty – about the participants of the Great Patriotic War, participants of the SVO, veterans of military operations, home front workers, modern defenders of the Fatherland, doctors, rescuers and other people performing feats in peacetime);
- "Ural spiritual" (works that reveal issues of faith, religious life, spiritual and moral education, the activities of religious organizations of various faiths operating in the Urals, as well as personal spiritual path, holy places and pilgrimages);
- "The Multinational Urals" (works about the peoples inhabiting the territories of the Urals – about their culture, language, traditions, holidays, national cuisine, costumes, family ways, interethnic relations and personal stories of representatives of national communities);
- "Ural family" (works about family traditions, family trees, large families, the transfer of crafts and values between generations);
- "Ural Tourist" (works about the natural beauties and tourist routes of the Urals: mountains, caves, lakes, historical monuments, ethnographic sites, ecotropics and events in the field of domestic tourism, including view films);
- "Ural in faces" (works about the people of the Urals who shape the image of the region — unique destinies, outstanding personalities, bearers of cultural traditions, craftsmen, entrepreneurs, teachers, social activists, people of business, etc.);
- "Ural Cultural" (works about the culture of the Urals in all its manifestations — cinema, theater, music, fine arts, literature, museum and library work, as well as scientific achievements);
- "Ural Industrial" (works about the industrial heritage of the Urals — factories, mining enterprises, engineering solutions, as well as about the history of industrialization, working dynasties and labor in production);
- "Shot in the Urals" (works shot in the Urals, but not subject to other thematic categories such as video blogs, art projects, or personal statements about life in the Urals);
- "S.A. Gerasimov's favorite movie" (an author's teaser or trailer for one of S.A. Gerasimov's films — it is allowed to use original fragments and musical accompaniment from films, as well as shooting your own video material "based on motives").
The jury has the right to award additional prizes and diplomas established by the Organizing Committee, various organizations or individuals wishing to encourage participants of the Film Festival.
The winners of the Film Festival are awarded with memorable gifts and Diplomas of the winners. The nominees (shortlisted participants) are awarded with Diplomas of Participation.
Rules
Creative teams (film, television and animation studios), individual authors, advertising agencies and video productions are invited to participate.
The geography of participants is Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Perm, Tyumen, Orenburg regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Khanty–Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts. Authors from other regions of the Russian Federation and from abroad are allowed to participate if the work popularizes the Urals.
Audiovisual works of various formats and genres are allowed to participate in the Film Festival:
- feature film;
- non-fiction (documentary) film;
- animated film;
- popular science/species film;
- presentation/image film;
- essay-portrait;
- social advertising;
- music history (video clip);
- video poetry;
- journalistic video work (TV program, reportage, information story, interview, etc.);
- new media (video art, blog, blog, etc.).

Jury and Organizers
The organizer of the festival is the Chelyabinsk Regional Film Center named after S. A. Gerasimov with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Chelyabinsk region.
The jury consists of representatives of the S. A. Gerasimov Film Center, cultural and artistic figures, specialists in the field of cinematography, representatives of state authorities and local self-government on cultural issues.
