About

The festival is the most representative symbol of Bucheon City known in the country as a mecca of culture. The festival encourages the understanding of other nations through the art of fantastic films and facilitates the exchange of ideas between film industry professionals from all over the world and those of Korea. Through the advanced and progressed well-planned programming, PiFan is highly ranked by the audiences and those who are working in film industry. The festival's cooperation with Yubari Fantastic Film Festival in Japan and European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation has helped it progress into the biggest gala of Asia in genres.

Program

• Puchon Choice (Feature/Short) – the only official competitive section for both feature and short films;
• World Fantastic Cinema – newest fantastic films mainly focusing on horror, mystery, thriller, and SF genres;
• Vision Express – films with creative approach to the genres and challenging vision;
• The Masters – a section for masters who paved their careers in genre cinema;
• Forbidden Zone – a section for extreme excitement of horror and fear;
• Ani Fanta – animated films that are the most receptive to fantastic;
• Fantastic Short Films – various fantastic short films from all over the world;
• Retrospectives;
• Special Programs.

Rules

• Eligible for the films produced after January 1st, 2023.
• Features: 60 minutes and/or more than 60 minutes of running time. Shorts: 59 minutes and/or less than 59 minutes of running time.
• All submitted films must satisfy Korean premiere condition of screening. 
• Submit online via festival site.
• Subtitles language: English
