Aims and Goals:

• To maintain international contacts, to broaden creative and professional contacts, to promote experience and ideas exchange among film schools;
• To reveal tendencies towards development of young cinema in different countries;
• To attract attention of film producers to the work of young directors, directors of photography, sound producers and script writers;
• To draw interest of viewing audience to the works of young filmmakers;
• To draw interest to short-length films.

Awards

The Grand jury awards the following awards to the main competition films: 

• Main award – for the best film;
• Award for best Director's work;
• Award for best acting;

Jury of short films competition: – Best film award.

The Organizing Committee and Directorate of the IFF “NACHALO” award: – Special prize with especial wording. 

Rules

Only fiction, documentary and animation films completed in 2020-2021 will be accepted. 

The minimum length of feature films is 60 minutes.
The maximum length of short films is 30 minutes. 

The participants should submit to the Selection Committee:

• Completed and signed Entry-Form
•  Full text of the film in the original and in one of the following languages: Russian, English;
• The list of subtitles in English;
• Synopsis, advertising materials, press materials;
• Promotional video and shot from the film;
• Materials for the catalog (information about the filmmakers, photos, including the Director's photo, film slides).

Selection format: Youtube, Vimeo with password

Subtitles language: english

Founded by St.Petersburg Filmmaker’s Union festival is held annually with the assistance of the Committee of Culture of St.Petersburg Government.
