Years running: 36 (since 1989)
Annual documentary film forum in Marseille, France.
About
The festival used to be the most important documentary event in Europe, especially for its daily discussions with the directors, but is considered to have lost some of its relevance ever since the festival and the film market split up into two separately organized events. Nevertheless, FID Marseille remains the major international documentary festival in France next to “Cinema du Réel” in Paris. In 2006 the market "Sunny Side of the Doc" moved to La Rochelle.
