International "BudRussiafilmfestival"

Russian Cinema Filmfestival and Russia through the eyes of foreigners.

About

"BUD! Russia. International Film Festival"

WE DON'T WATCH FILMS. WE REWRITE THEIR LAWS.

Mission Text:

The "BUD! Russia" festival is the vanguard of the new Russian cinema. It is the platform from which Russian filmmakers announce to the world the birth of a new language—bold, authentic, and utterly contemporary.

Our festival is the epicenter of an explosion, a place where cinema ceases to be an art form for the select few and becomes a new framework for national identity and a dialogue with the world.

Our program rests on four pillars that support a new cultural continent:

  1. "NEW RUSSIAN CINEMA" COMPETITION
This is our core statement. Our heartbeat. We seek the voices that will define the face of Russian cinema for decades to come. Films that contain the truth, power, and challenge that force the viewer not just to watch, but to feel and change. This is where the canon of tomorrow is born.
  2. "ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FILMS: THE NEW AUTHOR" COMPETITION
We acknowledge it: AI is not a tool; it is a co-author. We seek films where the algorithm becomes a voice, not just a brush. Where code gives birth not only to images but to meaning inaccessible to human perception. Your work is the answer to the question: whose soul will the machine acquire when it learns to create?
  3. "RUSSIA THROUGH FOREIGN EYES" COMPETITION
We break stereotypes by weaving realities together. We are not looking for reports, but for personal, even confessional perspectives from around the world. Your film is the prism through which we will see ourselves anew. Be bold. We are ready for any angle you present.
  4. "BEST INTERNATIONAL FILM" COMPETITION
Your national identity is your primary artistic device. We are not looking for a globalized product. We are looking for authentic voices pulsating with the spirit of your culture, your land, your people. Show us your truth, and we will show you our respect.

THE ANNUAL GALA CONCERT BECOMES THE FESTIVAL'S APEX—its living, fiery heart.
We fuse the power of cinema with the energy of music in a single surge, creating a living connection between eras through our special projects:

  • The Concert for Vysotsky is a manifesto: his rebellion, his raspy truth, is our fuel for today.
  • The Concert for Talkov is a statement: his question "Will I return?" is no longer rhetorical but demands an answer through action.

Our mission is to create a space where:

  • New Russian Cinema steps onto the world stage to set new rules.
  • The soul of the algorithm meets the soul of the people.
  • A foreigner filming Russia and a Russian filmmaker examining the world speak the same language—the language of honest cinema.
  • National identity does not divide but enriches our shared picture of humanity.
  • Past and future merge at the Gala Concert, proving that the classics are not an archive, but a source code for building tomorrow.

"BUD! Russia. International Film Festival" is not a festival. It is the annual ground zero for the future, where Russian cinema asserts its new ontological status, and the borders between nations, technologies, and eras are finally erased.
