Flickerfest

International short film festival.

About

Flickerfest began as a small local festival at the Balmain High School in 1991. Over the last years it has grown to be the most significant, dedicated, short film event in the Australian landscape. Australia’s only Academy® Award accredited and BAFTA recognised Short Film festival, Flickerfest is considered in international circles as the leading Australian competitive short film festival and increasingly filmmakers view it as one of the main festivals on the world circuit. Flickerfest screens for 10 days at the Bondi Beach with selected highlights heading off after the festival on tour to capital cities and regional centres around Australia.

Flickerfest remains a platform for celebrating the most entertaining and innovative short film making from around the world, judged by a panel of leading industry experts. Each year the most innovative, creative and inspiring short films the world has to offer are screened, all united by their excellence in the short film genre.
