Kecskemét Animation Film Festival

About

The 1st edition of KAFF was in 1985. KAFF originally was a triennial, since 2005 it is a biennial.

KAFF is 2 in 1:

• the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival presents the latest Hungarian animated films made in the last two years
• the Festival of European Animated Feature Films and TV-Films shows European-made animations.

In addition to films, KAFF hosts a range of concerts, exhibitions and workshops.

Awards

The official prizes of the jury are:

• KECSKEMÉT PRIZE
• BEST FEATURE FILM
• BEST TV SPECIAL
• BEST TV SERIES

Other prizes:

AWARD OF THE HUNGARIAN STUDENT JURY

The Organizing Committee also welcomes certain organizations wishing to present their own special prizes and cash awards.

Rules

The entered works - features (min. 40 minutes),  TV Special (min.20 minutes) and TV Series (max. 2 episodes) - shall be made by some kind of animation technique.

The entered works shall be made frame by frame, using some kind of animation technique, it is important that the proportion of animation in the film is more than 50%

Works shall be those that have been completed after 1 February, 2021.

The works entered in the Festival must be in European ownership of at least 50%.

There is no entry fee for films entered for the Festival.

The regulation of this Festival considers the rules of the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation / International Animated Film Association (ASIFA).
