Kecskemét Animation Film Festival

About

The 1st edition of KAFF was in 1985. KAFF originally was a triennial, since 2005 it is a biennial.

The competition programme of the festival accepts Hungarian and European animated works.

Competition for European works is open to three categories:

×    feature film (min. running time 40 minutes)

×    TV special (min. running time 20 minutes)

×     television series (max. 2 episodes per series)

Beside feature film, TV special and television series, Hungarian animations can be submitted to the competition categories of short film, applied animation and student film.

KAFF aims to present the widest possible survey of Hungarian and international animated films created in the past two years. Beyond the competition programmes, thematic panorama screenings, retrospective selections, professional consultations and masterclasses, as well as workshops, exhibitions make the festival programme even more diverse.

• BEST TV SPECIAL
• BEST TV SERIES

Rules

The entered works - features (min. 40 minutes),  TV Special (min.20 minutes) and TV Series (max. 2 episodes) - shall be made by some kind of animation technique.

The entered works shall be made frame by frame, using some kind of animation technique, it is important that the proportion of animation in the film is more than 50%

Works shall be those that have been completed after 1 March, 2023.

The works entered in the Festival must be in European ownership of at least 50%.

There is no entry fee for films entered for the Festival.

The regulation of this Festival considers the rules of the Association Internationale du Film d'Animation / International Animated Film Association (ASIFA).
