International Mountain & Adventure Film Festival Graz

International Mountain and Adventure Film Festival.

It is the purpose of the International Mountain & Adventure Film Festival Graz to support and promote the culture of mountain, adventure and nature filmmaking. The focus should lie on thematic and artistic components. Through public screenings and corollary programs, films of this genre will not only be presented to a large audience, but their creators will also be able to show their productions to specialists in the field. An international jury will judge the films, which have been chosen in advance by a pre-selection committee. This jury will award five different prizes in the categories mentioned below, as well as the “Prize of the Jury” and, as the main prize, the “Grand Prix Graz”.

  • Category A Alpinism & Expeditions,
  • Category S Sports in Mountains & Nature,
  • Category N Nature & Environment,
  • Category M People & Cultures.

  • Main Award: «Grand Prix Graz» — This trophy, including a cash prize of € 5000 will be awarded to the best film of the festival
  • Awards «Alpine Camera in Gold» — This prize, including a cash prize of € 3000 will be awarded to the best film in each of the categories
  • Honourable mentions may be given in each category
  • In addition, the jury awards the «Alpine Camera Austria», including a cash prize of € 2000 — for the best film directed and/or produced by Austrians
