The festival aims to promote cultural exchange and artistic expression through film, highlighting the diversity of perspectives and emerging creative voices emanating from the southern regions. The festival will be held in December in Teixeira de Freitas and is supported by the Federal University of Southern Bahia and the Paulo Gustavo Municipality Act.

The "Global South" is a term used to designate regions of the world that are generally less privileged economically, socially, and politically than more developed regions, often referred to as the "Global North." This distinction is based not only on geographical criteria but also on economic, social, and geopolitical characteristics.

Rules
1 Film submissions for the festival are open until October 20, 2025 at 11:59 p.m., via the filmfreeway platform. Submissions after the stipulated deadline will not be accepted.
2. Short films (max 10 min) made by people from the Global South are eligible to participate. 2.1 Films must have subtitles in Portuguese or Spanish
2.2 Completed from 2023 onwards
2.3 Coming from countries in the so-called Global South (a group of underdeveloped or developing countries, divided by the equator on the map. Despite the name, some northern countries are also below the equator, such as Australia and New Zealand, which are nevertheless part of the group of northern, developed countries)
3. Selected films will be announced by October 30, 2025 on the Filmfreeway platform and festival instagram page.
4. Those responsible for the selected films undertake to send the festival links to download the screening file of their works in .mov .h264 format or higher. It is recommended to send subtitles in SRT format
5. By registering, those responsible for the films declare that they accept all items in these regulations, as well as to be legally responsible for the film, including complaints involving copyright. 6. The films submitted will become part of the educational and non-profit collection of the UFSB University TV and of the university film clubs of UFSB and UNEB in order to expand the exhibition platform.
7. Any cases not covered by these regulations will be resolved by the festival organizers.
