Development Film Fest

About

This festival provides a creative platform for those who wish to bring a positive change in the world by focusing on development issues and themes through short films. The target audiences for the festivals are professionals in the field, development workers and students. The centre has been organizing film festivals for the past eight years since 2005, each edition focused on a specific development issue. The past festivals had an overwhelming response from filmmakers across the globe. 

Program

The film makers are invited to showcase their documentaries, short films and animation films made on any of the following themes:

• Youth, poverty and development,
• Poverty and Hunger
• Food security
• Health and Well-being
• Education
• Gender equality
• Water and sanitation
• Energy
• Economic growth and Employment
• Inclusive, safe and resilient cities
• Climate change
• Conservation of marine resources
• Sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems
• Biodiversity

Rules

Restirctions

• Only short films of duration upto 20 minutes are eligible for the competition;
• Films above 20 mins and within 45 minutes can also be submitted, which will fall under non-competitive category and best among them will become eligible for special screening;
• The film can either be a docudrama, documentary or an animated film;
• The films sent for competition should have been released within last five years and should have been produced with the own idea of the director.

Documents and Other Requisite Items

The entries should be sent in DVD format ( 2 Copies) along with the filled in Submission Form.
