International Film Festival “Victory Day”

International Film Festival about the Great Patriotic War and World War II.

About

The Victory Day Film Festival is held annually, aimed at highlighting the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, countering the falsification of history and the results of the Second World War, as well as promoting the cultural and creative achievements of Soviet, Russian and foreign cinematographers who created films on the theme of the film festival in the past and are currently creating films on the theme of the festival.

The IV IFF "Victory Day" will be held from April 13 to 18, 2025 in Moscow and in the cities of the Moscow region at eight festival venues.

Films of Russian and foreign authors, completed production no earlier than January 1, 2023, in the following categories are accepted for the competition programs:
• competition of documentaries (short);

• competition of Short Feature films,

and also in two special programs:

• documentary film competition about the events in Donbas;

• music video competition about the Great Patriotic War and events in Donbass .

In 2025, there will also be a competition of the best Soviet feature films of 1960 -1970, the program of which is formed by the Organizing Committee.

Prizes and awards are presented to the winners during the official closing ceremony of the Festival. In addition to the above prizes and awards, awards from organizations and creative unions may be awarded in agreement with the Organizing Committee of the Festival.

Rules

Competitive and non-competitive festival programs are formed by the selection committee, headed by the Festival Program Director, and approved by the Festival Organizing Committee. When compiling the Festival programs, the Program Director is guided by the applicable legislation of the Russian Federation and the Festival Regulations.

Films by Russian and foreign authors that were completed in production no earlier than January 1, 2023 are accepted into the competition programs.

An announcement about the selection of films for participation in the Festival, the selection of documentary film projects for participation in Pitching and the deadlines for submitting applications will be published on the Festival website in December 2024. To be selected, applicants must provide release data for the film, information about the composition of the film crew, an abstract of up to 500 characters, including spaces, as well as a link to a viewing copy of the film, which must be available until the end of the festival. Films selected for participation are transferred by the applicant for demonstration at the festival in digital form with Full HD quality. Films in a foreign language must be accompanied by subtitles in Russian or dubbed in Russian. For selected films, a list of additional materials that must be submitted to the Festival Organizing Committee is communicated to applicants in a personal letter.
