International Film Festival about the Great Patriotic War and World War II.
About
The Victory Day Film Festival is held annually, implemented using a grant from the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, aimed at highlighting the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, countering the falsification of the results of World War II and modern history, as well as promoting the cultural and creative achievements of Soviet, Russian and foreign cinematographers who created in the past and are creating now the films on the theme of the film festival.
The V International Film Festival "Victory Day" will be held from June 21 to 26, 2026 in Moscow and in the cities of the Moscow region, as well as in other regions of Russia as part of the "Echo of the Festival".
Films by Russian and foreign authors, completed no earlier than January 1, 2024, are accepted into the competition programs in the following categories:
• International documentary film competition about the Great Patriotic War;
• International competition of full-length feature films about the Great Patriotic War;
• International competition of short feature films about the Great Patriotic War;
• Documentary film competition about the events in Donbas;
• Competition of feature films about the events in Donbas;
• Animated film competition,
as well as in a special category:
• Military-patriotic and Civil Music Video Contest.
In 2026, there will also be a competition for the best Soviet feature films released in 1970-1980, the program of which is formed by the Organizing Committee.

Prizes and diplomas are awarded to the winners and laureates during the official closing ceremony of the Festival.
Rules
The competitive and non-competitive programs of the festival are formed by the selection committee, which is headed by the Program Director of the Festival, and approved by the Organizing Committee of the Festival. When compiling the Festival programs, the Program Director is guided by the applicable legislation of the Russian Federation and the Regulations of the Festival.
Films by Russian and foreign authors completed by production no earlier than January 1, 2024 are accepted into the competition programs.
The announcement of the selection of films for participation in the Festival and the deadline for submitting applications will be published on the Festival's website in January 2026. To be selected, applicants must provide the film's output data, information about the cast, an annotation of up to 500 characters, including spaces, as well as a link to a preview copy of the film, which must be available before the end of the festival. The films selected for participation are submitted by the applicant for digital demonstration at the festival in Full HD quality. Films in a foreign language must be accompanied by subtitles in Russian or dubbed in Russian. For selected films, a list of additional materials that must be submitted to the Festival Organizing Committee is communicated to applicants in a personal letter.

The program of the military-patriotic and civil Music Video Contest (music videos aimed at education, cultural, military-patriotic, spiritual and moral education, preservation of historical truth and traditional Russian values) is formed from music videos on the topic of Special Nominations created by Russian and foreign authors no earlier than January 1, 2024.
The Animation Film Competition program consists of films on the theme of the Festival created by Russian and foreign authors no earlier than January 1, 2024. Films with the status of the Russian premiere have the right of preferential inclusion in the program.
