About

Ars Independent brings to Katowice young, brave and provocative Cinema, which seeks for its own language, breaks functioning conventions and film styles, strives for themes unnoticed by the others. We present the most diverse achievements of independent authors.

Awards

Main competition:

• „Black Horse” prize of 2.500 EUR for the director of the highest rated film in the Competition,
• Special Mentions of no-cash character.

Short animation competition:

• Black Horse of Animation” prize of 500 EUR for the director of the highest rated film in the Competition,
• Special Mentions of no-cash character.

Rules

Main competition: Only debuts and second films produced after the 1st of January 2017, which were not screened at any festival in Poland before Ars Independent IFF will be considered for the selection in the Competition. Films are to be no shorter than 60 minutes.

Debuts and second  films produced after January 1st, 2018.
