About

The Arouca Film Festival constitutes himself as a unique event, a dynamic and innovative project that fights relentlessly towards a decentralization of culture. The aim of this festival is the stimulation of film production, the support and promotion of the recent works with recognized quality in the world circuit, as well as works of independent productions. This Festival also try to attract and build audiences, promote and enhance the exchange of experiences and knowledge among movie's lovers or professionals, and promote and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Arouca.

Rules

The registration of any film / video will have to obey to the following stages:

• To fill the online entry form in the festival’s website
• Submit the movie/video, as a video file, as follows:
  • Online streaming video (Vimeo, YouTubeHD). Hyperlink and password should be written in entry form
  • Download (by e-mail), through an online file transfer service such as WeTransfer or WeSend
  • Send by post mail. The films/videos should be sent in DVD format
• It should also be filled the “Cession of Copyrights” (available in the registration form). In case of selection, it should be filled and duly signed by the producer/distributor a document the allow the exhibition during the event. The document will be send after the announcement of the selected films.

Immediately after the communication of the selection of the film/video for the competition should be sent:

• List of dialogues (in portuguese and/or english),
• Picture (at least) of the film, in high resolution
• EPK (electronic press kit)

Screening format: MPEG-4 (.mp4) · Compression codec: H.264 · Bit rate: 3000 (min) A 5000 (max) · Coding mode: multipass · Recommended dimensions: 1280x720 (720p) Second): 25 fps · Optimized for: Streaming. A file of up to 40 minutes does not exceed the maximum size of 1.5 GB (1500 MB).
