Animafest Cyprus

About

Animafest Cyprus Views of the World, started in 2002 as a documentary festival in a small village, and was called the Small Documentary Festival. It was later re-named International Countryside Documentary and Animated Film Festival Views of the World.

Since 2011 the Festival focuses exclusively on the art of Animated Film. The festival is active through the year. It’s main activities include «Animafest Cyprus on tour», which presents the best of Countryside Animafest Cyprus at various locations around the country throughout the year, including schools, film festivals, cinemas, galleries, etc, always in non-commercial screenings; Since 2012 we organize workshops, Lectures and masterclasses in animation, and an Academic forum on Animation at the Cyprus University of Technology, bringing together academics from Cyprus and abroad. This seminar is organized in collaboration with Media Desk Cyprus.

Awards

• International film Competition (Grand Prix) – Prize: 1,000 euro
• Children film Competition – Prize: 500 euro
• National (Cyprus) film Competition – Prize: 500 euro

Monetary prizes accompanying the festival awards will be given to the director of the film.

Rules

• Short films must not exceed 40 minutes in length.
• Films must be completed after January 1st, 2023.
• The right to participate is reserved to films being screened for the first time in Cyprus.
• Subtitles language: english
