Directors Statement

Be patient, not now, later - these are the words that I have heard since childhood and that I continue to repeat to myself day after day. They say this is the syndrome of deferred life, when it seems to you that soon, sometime in the future, your life will begin, in which you will be happy, and now it is only preparation. The reasons for my deferred life are the fears that haunt me at every step. Sometimes, future happiness seems so unattainable that it is easier to freeze and do nothing. They say there are three strategies for behavior in a stressful situation - fight, run, freeze. I am a “freeze” person, and life is endless stress, in which I no longer know where my thoughts begin and the thoughts of other people end. I am a set of phrases heard somewhere, someone else's opinions and fears. In February 2025, Kolya (the film's cameraman) and I met for several hours about what worries everyone. From these conversations and my fears, the script for our story was born. When we started assembling the team, it turned out that there were many people who were close to the syndrome of postponed life - some had overcome it, some had not yet. I was going to cope with it on the set. For me, our film was a challenge - to stop preparing and start filming. It was scary and painful, but it had a therapeutic effect. It was not even the filming itself that helped, but the people around me, with whom it was no longer so scary. It is important to know that you are not alone in your fears and doubts, this is what we are talking about through our film - sometimes you need to pick at the wound and pull out the splinter so that it heals. The film editor, after putting our film together, sat down to write his long-postponed script. My classmate, who helped, finally decided to make his own film. It is not a fact that this initial impulse will last long, but it is already something. It is time to pull yourself together and stop freezing.
