Directors Statement

The idea for the film "Don't Call Me Again" came to me almost by accident - while surfing social networks. I came across a meme with a girl who, while drunk, calls the police and incoherently tells how she found a dead beaver in the river. I watched this video a hundred times. And suddenly I asked myself: how does she live? What brought her to this state? One thought led to another - and now the first scene is written, and then a draft of the script. This is how work began on the plot, which soon turned into a full-fledged dramatic story - about an internal crisis, dependence on toxic relationships and a painful but cleansing decision to leave. It seems to me that the topic of toxic relationships is more relevant now than ever. I observe how young people - guys and girls - often hurt each other in their relationships. This causes psychological trauma, but, surprisingly, they continue to stay together. For me, this seems contradictory, and that is why I wanted to think about it more deeply. It was especially nice that a strong and truly friendly team had assembled - with a great sense of humor, and for me this is very important. I am also very pleased with the cast. Alexandra Kiseleva and Ruslan German did not just play the characters - they added depth to them, showed in them what I did not even initially expect. Thanks to their acting skills, the story acquired additional volume and emotional response. The filming went surprisingly smoothly: without overtime, without stress. For the first time in my career, everything went calmly and according to plan.
