Biography

Anna Matison was born in Irkutsk (Siberia) in 1983. In 2008, Anna Matison moved to Moscow and entered the Screenwriting Department of the Russian State University of Cinematography, Natalia Ryazantseva’s workshop. She graduated from the university with distinction in 2013.

Directors Statement

In these days we feel that people are striving to meet quick needs. This leads to separation. It seems to us that art is, as it has always been, traditionally called to unite people and countries making you think about what you will leave after you are gone in all senses. "After you are gone" is a story of one man who has come to a conclusion that even life itself, in its way and the death are insignificant in comparison with heritage that is able to last infinitely long. The question is what our heritage will look like is addressed to everyone, not just to the people of art.
