Three and a half years ago, Siberians Evgeny Kovalevsky and Stanislav Berezkin embarked on a unique expedition, following the routes of Russian circumnavigators. The pandemic, closed borders, shipwrecks, evading pirates, shark attacks—these are just a few of the challenges our heroes faced during their journey. They lost dozens of pounds, lost their vessels twice, and nearly lost their lives. Because, thanks to this voyage, they watched the sun rise at the gates of Antarctica, embraced the winds of Patagonia, shared meals with Polynesian families, and heard the secrets of the moai statues on Easter Island. They “embraced ”the planet, crossed the ocean, and returned changed.
