An elderly history teacher, Sergei Petrovich, invites his student Styopa and his mother to his home. While reading 'The 13th Labor of Hercules,' the past comes to life: many years ago, the teacher's son committed suicide after being bullied, and Sergei Petrovich has since devoted his life to waiting for revenge. As the story approaches its climax, Sergei Petrovich must decide which is stronger - revenge or forgiveness.
