Zagreb Film Festival

About

Every year, Zagreb Film Festival presents a few additional programs the purpose of which is often educational. These programs are realized in cooperation with Croatian and foreign selectors and international festivals and institutes. Some of such previously presented programs include Red Westerns and Wheel (in cooperation with Rotterdam International Film Festival), Film: Protest, Film as Propaganda (selector: Daniel Rafaelić), Bunker (selector: Bernd Buder, Berlinale)... and many others.

The festival features three separate international competition programs, and one competition program for short films made by Croatian authors. Apart from these, the festival usually organizes additional non-competitive programs, such as children's film program or a selection of debut works made by well-known film directors.

Awards

• The Golden Pram for the best feature film. Together with the award, the director of the best feature film will be given award money.
• The Golden Pram for the best short film. Together with the award, the director of the best feature film will be given award money.
• The Golden Pram for the best Croatian film in the Checkers competition. Together with the award, the director of the best Croatian film will be given award money.
• The Golden Bicycle for the best film in the Together Again competition.
• The award for the best film in PLUS program, the director of the best film will be given award money.

Rules

• In the competition program, the Zagreb Film Festival will present an international selection of directors' first or second films.
• Only the films completed after January 1, 2022, can be selected for the competition program.
• Experimental, animated and documentary films are not accepted!
