About

Tokyo Anime Award Festival is held to aim for the discovery and the exploration of new creators, the dissemination of the information to the public and the permanence of animated film culture and history.

TAAF2015, held for the second time this year, is a full-scall international animation film festival. It builds on the Tokyo Anime Award, which used to be held as part of the Tokyo International Anime Fair for the purposes of promoting discovery and development of human resource, serving as the world’s informational hub, and inherting animetion culture and history.

Shorts:

Grand Prize, Short Animation Category (cash award of 500,000 yen)
Award of Excellence, Short Animation Category (cash award of 100,000 yen)
Toshima City Award
A Special Prize and cash award that may be established by at the discretion of the Competition Jury or supporting organization

Features:

Grand Prize, Feature Animation Category (cash award of 500,000 yen)
Award of Excellence, Feature Animation Category (cash award of 100,000 yen)

Rules

Films have to be completed after Jan 1st, 2021, and may not have been screened in Japan for commercial purposes.
One applicant can submit one or more works.

Documents and Other Requisite Items

Application for Preliminary Selection:

Via fill out the form on TAAF website http://animefestival.jp/.

Fill out the application form on festival's website (Japanese/English) and upload required materials, including there (3) photos of the work and one (1) photo of the director’s face.
The photos uploaded must be in the format of JPEG and 300 dpi or higher.
Submit the materials of the work by post or make the work streamable on the Internet.
If by post, submit the work in the format of Quick Time H264, DVD-R(mp4,wmv), DVD-video (NTSC/PAL) or BD-video (NTSC/PAL) viewable universally (region free). Note each medium or disk shall contain only one work. Label each disk as instructed, or enclose the label printed out together with the disk (see the application form).
