Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival

About

In recent years, the magic of the mountains has come to engage people from every walk of life. It therefore attracts more and more enthusiasm from active mountain fans as as well from film makers and film buffs. Access to the mountain world can be facilitated by diverse and sometimes astounding means: whether your film’s thematic focus is mountain sports and Alpinism, landscape and environment or mountain cultures — the festival’s international jury will handle the competition with the greatest professional care.

Awards

• Great Prize of the City of Tegernsee (€ 3,000) for the best film 
• Prize by the German Alpine Club (€ 1,000) for the best film in the category Mountain Experience – Alpinism, Mountain Sports, Adventure
• Respective First Prizes (€ 1,000 each) in the categories Mountain Nature – bergzeit award – and Mountain Life
• Otto-Guggenbichler-Prize (€ 1,000) for the best entry by a Junior Film Maker. By the end of the film’s production period, the author/director must not be older than 32 years.
• Award for the most outstanding camera work (non-monetary prize)
• Award for the Exceptional Film (non-monetary prize)
• An Audience Prize (€ 1,000) goes to the film voted most liked by the audience.
• The Mountain Film Festival Mini Prize (€ 500) to the best children’s or young adult film.

Rules

• Works produced before 2021 will not be accepted into the competition.

Selection Media Type: AVCHD – specifications 280×720; 1440×1080 or 1920×1080 / mp4 / .mov (H.264)

Screening format:  DVD, Blu Ray, USB stick, external hard drive (HDD/Windows data format), SD cards.

Subtitle language: German.
