About

Sydney Transgender International Film Festival is a screen culture initiative to create a platform for the Australian transgender filmmakers showcasing their short and feature length films alongside of finalists from around the world! The festival also presents works that have transsexual content by non-trans filmmakers from Australia and beyond. 

The Festival aims to attract mainstream audiences to appreciate and recognize Transgender identity and issues through the medium of moving images. As well as undertaking exchange and curatorial programs to establish a network of individuals, groups and events with similar objectives locally and globally.

• Best Feature Film,
• Best Feature Film (Audience Choice) Award,
• Best Short Film (Audience Choice) Award.

Rules

• Short films must be 30 minutes in length or less,
• Feature films must be 50 minutes in length or over,
• All genres are acceptable,
• All works must be in English or have English subtitles,
• All works must be by Transgender filmmakers or have Trans content,
• There are no restrictions on date of production.

Documents and Other Requisite Items

• All works must register online,
• The festival accepts ‘ONLY‘ YouTube, Vimeo and/or URL link to the film’s full version as PREVIEW FORMAT (Screener).  Countries with no access to fast Internet connections are exempt.
