This human world presents outstanding feature films, documentaries, shorts and animation films covering human rights issues. The films aim to encourage people to scrutinise and re-examine their views and take heed of human responsibility. Furthermore the festival’s programme contains thematic lectures, workshops, talks and special events.
The COMPETITION PROGRAMME of this human world presents new exciting discoveries and pays special attention to young filmmakers and smaller productions. It contains films, that raise social awareness of human rights issues outside the framework of mainstream films and that focus on socio-critical themes. Films, that fascinate and that captivate with their innovation, aesthetically and thematically.

This competition is open for filmmakers first and second feature length films related to socio-political issues. An Austrian premiere is a MUST.
In this section, short animations and experimental films with a running time of maximum 15 minutes will be shown.
All films - documentary and fictional features, animations and experimental films with a running time of minimum 60 minutes, are accepted in this programme.
All films, including documentary and fictional features, animations or experimental films with a minimun running time of 60 minutes, can be submitted.
