About

The aim of SiciliAmbiente Festival is to promote the art documentary cinema related to environmental issues, and to encourage contacts and exchange of views and ideas between the directors. With our Festival we want to have a continuous and attentive eye on behaviors that jeopardize the integrity of the planet and the survival of living beings and a clearer view on the major challenges of our society.

The Festival is divided into different sections:

• Documentary Film contest (minimum length: 31 minutes) 
• Short Film contest for Fiction and Documentary shorts (maximum length 30 minutes) 
• Animated short film contest (maximum length 30 minutes) 
• “Bike Shorts”, Short Film contest (fiction, documentary and animation) on the theme of sustainable mobility (maximum length 30 minutes) 
• Overview of documentaries, fiction, short films and several tributes, retrospectives, seminars and panel discussions

Awards

DOCUMENTARY SECTION 

• "Il Faro", ('The Lighthouse') Award for Best Documentary (€1,000 grant). 
• "Il Faro", Plaque to the 2nd Best Documentary, consisting of a work of art made of recycled material. 
• The Audience Award, chosen by the audience attending the Festival (a work of art made from recycled materials). 
• AAMOD Award, consisting of a plaque and the free use of 3' of audiovisual material by the Labor Movement Archives (value of approximately € 3,000)

SHORT FILM SECTION 

• "Il Faro", ('The Lighthouse') Award for Best Short or Animated film (€500 grant). 
• "Il Faro", Plaque for 2nd Best Short film, consisting of a work of art made of recycled material. 
• “Special TTPIXEL Award”, consisting of 4 sessions of colour correction + the production of a dcp master. Total value of € 3,000.

ANIMATED FILM SECTION 

• "Il Faro", ('The Lighthouse') Award for Best Animated film (€500 grant). 
• "Il Faro", Plaque for 2nd Best Animated film, consisting of a work of art made of recycled material.

BIKE SHORTS SECTION 

• FIAB Award for the best film that deals with the theme of Sustainable Mobility (€500 grant and a work of art made from recycled materials).

Rules

• Films completed after the 1st of January 2023.
• Submission is open on the following partner websites: FilmFreeway, Festhome, Filmfestivallife, Clickforfestivals.
• Subtitles language: English or Italian
