Among the few prestigious German festivals specialized in films for a young audience. Several youth juries and one expert jury chooses the winners in the different categories.

Program

• INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S FILM COMPETITION - Target audience: 5 till 10 years; 
• INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR FILM COMPETITION - Target audience: 11 till 13 years; 
• INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FILM COMPETITION - Target audience: from 14 years; 
• INTERNATIONAL SHORT AND ANIMATION FILM COMPETITION - Target audience: from 4 years; 
• FOCUS GERMANY - Target audience: from 5 years.

Awards

In the competitions, money and material prizes with a total value of € 64 000 will be awarded. 

Rules

• Only children and youth films completed after the 1 January 2023 can apply for the competitions (feature film, animation film and documentary). 
• Feature and animated films are preferred to be German premieres and should not be longer than 45 minutes;
• Long feature films to be screened in our international competitions have to be submitted as a German premiere at least and need to have a minimum length of 45 minutes.

Documents and Other Requisite Items

The following documents need to be attached to the registration:

• DVD screener,
• filled and signed application form, 
• stills and director’s portrait photograph for catalogue and press purposes (high-resolution!),
• crew list,
• dialogue list in English and/or German language, 
• short biography and filmography of the film maker, 
• film poster.
