About
PLAY is the first Portuguese film festival, exclusively dedicated to children and teenagers, determined to promote the access to culture for a younger audience through Cinema and screening films for audiences aged between 1 and 13 years old.
Awards
Prize Money for «PLAY's Best Short Film Award». This award will be selected by a panel of judges composed by Film professionals.
All the films will be eligible for the «Audience Award for Best Short Film». There will be three winners in this competition: Audience Award for Best Short Film 3-5 years old; Audience Award for Best Short Film 6-9 years old and Audience Award for Best Short Film 10-13 years old.
This will be a Non-Monetary award and the winners will receive a certificate.
Rules
Submission to the Festival is open to feature films, creative documentaries, experimental films, student films, short films and innovative visual productions for digital media completed after January 1, 2018

The time has come to question. Access to the movies that depict human doubts are essential to create new thoughts and ideas.
Developing knowledge without forgetting the playful aspect that should follow. The cinematic territory is as make-believe as the day to day of any child.
Coincides with the beginning of the child’s schooling, a need for organization of thought and deeper contact with the socio-cultural knowledge implemented. The narrative construction of the movies, encourages children to organize their own narrative.
Although seeing is a physical process, this is mainly culturally developed. The senses must be stimulated early on so that the premise I see what I know can be completely explored later on.
