Ó Bhéal International Poetry-Film Competition

About

Since 2013, Ó Bhéal has been affiliated with the IndieCork Festival of Independent Cinema & Music, to bring you the Ó Bhéal International Poetry-film Competition, screening the shortlist of thirty films and awarding one winner the Ó Bhéal/IndieCork prize for best poetry-film. Shortlisted poetry-films since 2012 are also shown every week at Ó Bhéal, before the event begins. Poetry-film programmes curated by Ó Bhéal have also appeared at Cyclops Poetry-Film Festival in Kiev and at the Clare Island Film Festival.

Awards

•  Best Poetry-Film — the Indie Cork / Ó Bhéal prize. 

Rules

• Films must interpret, or convey a poem which must be present in its entirety.
• Films completed no earlier than August 2018. 
• Films may not exceed 10 minutes in duration. 
• You may submit as many entries as you like.
• Non-English language films will require English subtitles. 

Submission should be made via email.

Include the following info in an attached word document:

• Name and duration of Film
• Name of director
• Country of origin
• Contact details
• Name of Poet
• Name of Poem
• Synopsis
• Filmmaker biography
• and a Link to download a high-resolution version of the film.
