About

The New York City Short Film Festival (NYC Shorts) is an international competitive short film festival created by filmmakers and dedicated to the short form. The festival screenings takes place at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre at Symphony Space, a storied arts and film venue in Manhattan.

Rules

  • Short films under 20 minutes (including credits).
  • All foreign language films must be subtitled in English.
  • Films must have been produced after January 2023. 
  •  Only  online submissions for the judging process.

Entries for Documentary Short must be non-fiction works, not more than 20 minutes in length, including credits.

Entries for LGBT Short must be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender themed, fiction or non-fiction works, not more than 20 minutes in length, including credits.
