About
The aim of the festival is to consolidate women's forces, give aspiring female directors the opportunity to express themselves, support them in their profession, and show trends in the development of women's cinema around the world.
Awards
The international jury awards the following prizes:
Award for Best Film;
Award for Best Director;
Award for Best Screenplay;
Award for Best Performance by an Actress.
The festival's directorate presents a Special Prize for Contribution to Cinema.
Additionally, the Jury Prize of the Russian Film Critics for Best Film in the competition is established at the festival.
There is also a People's Choice Award for the Best Film of the festival.
Rules
Films directed, written, or produced by women are accepted for screening at the festival, as well as films that center around women's themes and issues.
The festival program includes:
a competitive program; It will feature at least seven full-length feature films (the participation of full-length documentary films is also permitted). Their production must be completed after April 1, 2024.
a non-competitive program;
a retrospective screening.
The programs are curated by the Selection Committee and curators of the Women’s Film Festival. The duration of a full-length film must be at least 52 minutes.
Applications for participation will be accepted from February 1 to March 1, 2025. Applications are submitted through an online system on the festival's website. The applicant confirms that they have all the rights and authority for selection at the Women’s Film Festival. The Selection Committee is responsible for viewing, selecting, discussing, and approving films for invitation to the festival. The list of films selected for the festival's competitive program must be published on the festival's website no later than March 15, 2025.

National premiere required.
