About
The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is one of North America’s leading documentary film festivals. Each year, the RIDM presents more than 140 Canadian and international documentaries.
Originally conceived as a filmmakers’ festival, the RIDM also works to bring artists and audiences together. For 10 days each year, master classes, round tables and thematic discussions are organized for the general public and industry professionals.
Awards
This award is presented to a socially conscious work by an emerging Canadian director.
The jury of five students from cegeps presents an award to a film from the Canadian Competition.
The Inmates’ Jury is made up of five inmates of the Joliette Institution, the only federal women’s penitentiary in Quebec.
