Josiah Media Festival

About

The Josiah Media Festival is URBAN-15’s annual nationwide film and media event that is open only to filmmakers age 21 and younger. It is named after Josiah Miles Neundorf, a talented media artist from San Antonio, Texas who passed away in 2006 as a result of osteosarcoma. Despite his short twenty years with us, Josiah expanded the lives of those around him through his brilliance, joy, and determination to create outstanding works in the midst of the physical ravages from this disease. In honor of this artist, his parents, Marcus and Nancy Neundorf, and the URBAN-15 Group created the Josiah Media Festival, an annual film festival designed to showcase outstanding works by young film, video, and media artists.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the first-place winners in each of the four film categories! Award certificates and letters will be awarded to the first, second and third-place winners in each of the four film categories with an additional prize awarded to the “Best of Show” winner!

Rules

• Filmmakers interested in submitting their work should be born on or after June 1st, 2002 unless they are entering a film made while they were 21 or younger.
• All films submitted must have been completed within two years 
• Films must not exceed 20 minutes total-run-time (TRT includes all credit sequences within the film).
• All film submissions MUST be accompanied with a completed Entry Form AND a signed Filmmaker’s Release Form. Submit entry forms via mail. If mailed, films should be submitted as high-definition digital files on a thumb drive or Data-DVD – Playable DVDs are not acceptable.
