Festival of scientific and industrial cinema of Siberia "Kremniy"

About

The competition "Scientific Cinema of Siberia - 2024" is organized within the framework of the III International Festival of Scientific and Industrial Cinema of Siberia "Kremniy", initiated by the Government of the Novosibirsk region and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Novosibirsk region.

The organizer of the festival is the state budgetary cultural institution of the Novosibirsk region "Center for Creative Industries" (abbreviated name GBUK NSO "CCI").

The annual International Festival of Scientific and Industrial Cinema of Siberia "Kremniy" is a space for cooperation between science, arts and technology.

In 2024, the Silicon Festival takes place in August in Novosibirsk, Russia.

The Scientific Cinema of Siberia competition is designed to present to a wide audience the best documentaries and animated films of popular science and industrial subjects created in the regions of Siberia and the Far East, to popularize scientific cinema and identify the potential for its development.

Awards

The jury determines the winners in the nominations:

• Best Feature-length Popular Science Film
• Best Short Non-fiction Film
• Best Full-length Industrial Film
• Best Short Industrial Film Best Animated/Experimental Popular Science and Industrial Film
• The best film made with the help of artificial intelligence technologies
• Grand Prix
• The prize for the best cinematography
• Audience Award

The jury also has the right to choose the film recipient of the special jury Prize. It is possible to establish additional prizes from partners and organizers of the competition.

Rules

Documentary and animated/experimental films devoted to scientific and industrial topics and completed production after January 1, 2022 are accepted for participation in the competition (the production date is determined by the copyright indicated on the film or video copy).

Preference is given to films shot at film studios located in the regions of Siberia and the Far East.

Russian Russian subtitles are required for films with dialogues, if the original language of the film is not Russian.

Jury and Organizers

The composition of the jury will be announced later.

Films submitted for participation in the competition that meet its subject matter and formal criteria are reviewed by the expert council.

The films selected by experts in the competition program are reviewed by the jury and determine the winners in all categories.

The expert council (at least 5 people) and the jury (at least 5 people) include cinematographers, film critics, representatives of the scientific and industrial communities.
